Tekhnosila acquires E96.ru

acquisitionTekhnosila, Russian multichannel consumer electronics and home appliances retailer, operating 85 offline outlets in 56 Russian cities as well as an online store, acquired a 100% stake in E96.ru, an Ekaterinburg-based online consumer electronics store.

According to the company, the deal will allow Tekhnosila to jump-boost its share of internet sales as well as strengthen its position in Russia’s Urals and Siberian Federal Districts. Neither Tekhnosila nor E96.ru has disclosed the value of the deal. Tekhnosila will keep the E96.ru brand and gain access to its infrastructure.

E96.ru’s has a market share of more than 30% of the e-commerce market in the regions where it is present.
The retailer’s turnover was around RUB 3bn (€34m) in 2015. Its product range includes 86,000 SKUs. Maximum level of site traffic, recorded in 2015 was 16 million visitors. E96.ru services more than 750 locations in the Urals and Siberia regions; it also has 40 collection points.

According to Tekhnosila CEO Ilya Timchenko, the company wants to expand its product range from 30,000 to 100,000 SKUs in 2016. The purchase of E96.ru follows the company’s strategic goal in becoming one of the market leaders among the multi-channel retailers during the next three years, Mr Timchenko said.
